How to Connect Stripe

What you'll need

A Stripe account (free to create) and access to your API keys.

Step 1 — Create a Stripe account

Sign up at stripe.com. You can start in test mode — no real charges will be made until you activate your live account.

Step 2 — Find your API keys

In the Stripe dashboard go to Developers → API keys. You'll find a Publishable key (pk_...) and a Secret key (sk_...) for both test and live modes.

Step 3 — Set up the webhook

Go to Developers → Webhooks and add an endpoint. Select the checkout.session.completed and payment_intent.succeeded events. Copy the webhook signing secret (whsec_...).

Step 4 — Connect in SellDesk

1. Open Settings → Payments in your dashboard.
2. Expand the Stripe card and switch to Test or Live mode.
3. Paste your Publishable key, Secret key, and Webhook secret.
4. Choose a checkout mode: Inline (card form on your checkout page) or Redirect (Stripe's hosted checkout).
5. Save changes and toggle Stripe on.

Tip

Always test with a sk_test_ key first, then swap in your live keys once you're ready to accept real payments.
